From the start of the competition, we focused heavily on the core values of our team –– the values that inspire every member of our team to work hard and to strive to be the best.
It was from these foundational core values, that our logo came to life. To us, the logo is the simplest-looking and most effective way to quickly get across a story or a message. That is, it should be simple to effectively capture our team values, yet its story should be complex.
At the beginning of the logo design process, we were overwhelmed with ideas. We didn’t panic, though; we used our plethora of ideas to our advantage and we brainstormed; we started discussing what aspect of our team should most prominently be reflected in the logo design. Therefore, having no time to lose, we started generating as many logos as we could to cherry-pick what worked in these initial designs.
After a while, we had eliminated many logos that didn’t work, and we started to refine the logos that worked. It wasn’t long before we had come down to two designs. We fiercely debated about which elements of the design we liked and which had room for improvement. From that point, we were refining both designs creating many prototypes each week, and discussing each one in our meetings.
It was time to finalize the logo. Both designs had come a long way compared to what they initially looked like; we had, however, to choose just one design. So we voted to list the advantages and disadvantages we saw in each design, and after that meeting, we had come down to this logo. We were very enthusiastic about the logo we ended up using, seeing the hard work every member of the team had put into it. After this long process, we made some final changes, and our team logo had finally been created.
